Nothing's better than good down home cooking!  Hope you enjoy my small town recipes!

Easy Cheesy Crockpot Chicken~This is one of my family's favorite and most used recipes!
Place 4-5 thawed boneless skinless chicken breasts into your crockpot.
In a medium sized bowl, mix together one can cream of chicken soup, 1/2 soup can of milk, 1/2 soup can of water,  1 tsp garlic powder, a dash or two of black pepper, and two cups shredded cheddar cheese.
Pour over chicken.  Cook on high for 6-8 hours.
This recipe is yummy served over noodles, rice, or with a side of mashed potatoes!

Loaded Potato Soup
This soup is wonderful and comforting on a cool day!
5 lb. bag potatoes, peeled and  diced (or cut into 1 to 2" pieces
2 celery stalks diced
2 small onions diced
1 stick butter
1 cup milk
water to cover
cooked ham diced (I use precooked already diced)
bacon bits
sour cream

Fill a large pot with about 2 inches of water on bottom.  Add celery, onion, butter, and a dash or two of salt and pepper.  Bring to a boil. Let simmer for about 15 minutes.  While this is heating, cut your potatoes.  Add potatoes to mixture in pot, and add more water to cover.  Bring to a boil.  Turn down a bit but continue boiling and stirring occasionally.  Add milk when potatoes are almost soft. Add ham. Continue to simmer.  Mash chunks of potatoes against the side of the pan when stirring.  You can add more milk or water so the consistency meets your preference.  You can also leave chunks of potatoes, or mash most of them, to your preference.
Serve in bowls.  Place a dollop of sour cream on top and sprinkle with bacon bits.  Delicious!!
